Polyester

A manufactured fiber introduced in the early 1950s. Of all the manufactured fibers, polyester is the most used and is second only to cotton in worldwide use. Polyester has high strength (although somewhat lower than nylon), excellent resiliency and high abrasion resistance. Low absorbency allows the fiber to dry quickly.

Twist:

It is the term that indicates the number of cycles and direction of the rotation made to the yarn during production. Twist brings the fibers closer to each other and makes the yarn more compact. As the fibers hold together more tightly, the yarn strength increases. Twisting direction affects the appearance, performance and durability of both the yarn and the fabric. The right twist is called “S”, the left twist is called “Z” and the number of twists is specified as the number of cycles per meter (tpm).

Dye Fastness

The ability of dyed fabric to resist fading and dye bleeding due to washing, exposure to sunlight and environmental conditions. It depends on the type of yarn, the type of dye and the processes performed to fix the dye.
